C.K McClatchy High School Visual & Performing Arts Modernization

Abate and demolish VAPA wing of CK McClatchy High School.  Perform main electrical services upgrade and Install new mechanical electrical systems.  Constructed and Modernized classrooms and auditorium.
This 12 month project consisted of 13,000 labor hours with zero injuries.

6th Street at Sacramento Railyards

Studebaker Brown Electric has completed multiple phases of the City of Sacramento’s Downtown Rail Yards Development. This project was part of one of Sacramento’s largest developments to date. Traffic Signals/Decorative Lighting & Fiber Optic Infrastructures were some of the main components of the work performed. Zero accidents were reported.

Dorsey Drive Interchange Project - Grass Valley

This project involved the construction of a full interchange at the intersection of Dorsey Drive and Highway 49 in Grass Valley. Three new intersections were installed; complete with new traffic signals, CCTV, and LED lighting.New highway lighting was also installed on all four on and off ramps. This 2 year project had over 5,000 labor hours with zero accidents.

Highway 50 - Camellia City Viaduct Project

This fast paced project required crews working 24/7 to complete a typical 6 month schedule in 3 months. An extensive highway lighting system and traffic operating system was installed complete and on time, with zero reported accidents.

Oak Street Roundabout

The Oak Street Roundabout Improvement Project consisted of 3 new intersections, new decorative lighting, and an intricate traffic operating system that integrated the new roundabout with the traffic signals to obtain efficient traffic movement.Zero accidents were reported on this project.

Cal Trans District 3 Emergency Repair Project

Studebaker Brown Electric provided on-call, 24/7 service to Caltrans for replacements and repairs to electrical services that had been stolen or vandalized.  


Thornton Road Widening

Project consist of Lamppost removal and replacement with electrical. Provide and Install new Traffic Signals. Install new Street Lighting and Signal Boxes.


UPRR-Donner Pass

Union Pacific Rail Road-UPRR
Working closely with UPRR,Studebaker Brown Electric provided extensive conduit, wiring, and electrical components to bring utility power to new back-up generators that provided power to four remote locations in the Sierra Mountains. This 2 year project was unique in the fact that 90% of all the work was done within close proximity to the active train tracks in adverse conditions. Zero accidents were reported on this project.

Township 9 Light Rail Station - 7th Street & Richards Blvd.

The new Regional Transit train station project presented us with an enterprising design. It entailed decorative platform and shelter lighting and power, handrail lighting, lighted bollards and station grounding combined with intricate architectural concrete work to tie in with existing historical architectural aspects.

Port of West Sacramento Security System Upgrade

For this project, Studebaker Brown installed the power and communication infrastructure for new gate guard facilities.  In order to update and expand their existing security system, new power and communications lines were installed by Studebaker Brown Electric for cameras and emergency phones at multiple locations throughout the port.

Port of West Sacramento Dock Lighting Project

This added feature to the port’s expanded security system involved installing security lighting under all the docks in the port. This installation was singular for Studebaker Brown since the conduit, wiring and lighting all was installed while working from floating work platforms on the underside of the docks.

West B St. Pedestrian & Bicycle Undercrossing

An undercrossing was created at West B Street to provide safer access across the railroad tracks for increasing pedestrian traffic. We installed new decorative street and pathway lighting, stairwell lighting and lighting for the 200 foot long tunnel that comprise the undercrossing. Studebaker Brown Electric also installed a security camera system and emergency push buttons for the undercrossing.

Caltrans Roadway Weather Information System & CCTV System

The installation of a new RWIS system in Modoc County had a little bit of everything, from adverse ground conditions to remote location. We provided new electrical service for the 30’ foldable tower that houses wind, humidity and temperature indicators (also installed by Studebaker Brown Electric), and roadway temperature and moisture sensors in each of the 3 lanes.


Sutter County Airport Airfield Lighting Upgrade

Sutter County needed their airfield lighting upgraded, so Studebaker Brown Electric performed a complete renovation of their airfield lighting system. This project needed to be completed quickly and with minimal interference with airport traffic. Some of the specialty components we installed include the taxiway/runway edge lighting system, Precision Approach Path Indicator system (PAPI), Runway End Identifier Light systems (REIL), taxiway reflectors, taxiway/runway guidance signage, and a precast lighting vault and rotating beacon.

Nut Tree Airport – Runway 2-20 Threshold Shift and Taxiway K Construction

On a smaller scale, this project involved an accelerated schedule and coordinating with other crafts within very limited time frames.Studebaker Brown Electric installed extensions to the existing taxiway/runway edge lighting system, new Precision Approach Path Indicator systems (PAPI), new Runway End Identifier Light systems (REIL), and new taxiway/runway guidance signage.

Sump85 Pump Station VFD Replacement

Studebaker Brown Electric completed the sewer lift station modifications which involved the installation of new Variable Frequency Drives together with control and SCADA upgrades.

Sump157 Trash Rack- North Channel

When the City of Sacramento installed a new trash rack at existing Sump 157, Studebaker Brown Electric was responsible for the electrical and control installation that included MCC modifications, exterior lighting and RTU modifications.

Outfall Gates Knights Landing Rehabilitation

Studebaker Brown Electric retrofitted the outfall gates’ actuators to power and control the gates remotely and manually. We provided new power and control for the project upgrades that also entailed the installation of a new Motor Control Center (MCC), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Water Level Measurement System, and Communication System.We also installed the conduit, wiring and made electrical modifications for a diesel generator set and the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) installation.
